The ABCs of VNG Testing

More physicians are turning to VNG equipment to diagnose patients with dizziness and balance issues. Unlike ENG tests, VNG technology directly measures the movements of the eyes through infrared cameras. MedTrak’s Complete VNG Testing System provides doctors with the benefit of ABC — accuracy, bilateral results and comfort.

Instead of using electrodes to measure the movements of eye muscles, VNG testing uses more accurate infrared technology. This series of tests provides an objective assessment of the oculomotor and vestibular systems.

Bilateral Results
With VNG equipment, you can assess the functionality of each ear separately. It is one of the only tests available today that can determine if one (unilateral) or both (bilateral) ears are the cause of the balance or dizziness problem.

Advancements in VNG equipment, such as newly designed lightweight goggles, have resulted in increased comfort for patients, which in turn leads to more accurate and consistent VNG test results. More accurate results means better evaluations and treatment options for patients suffering from dizziness, poor balance and fear of falling.

At MedTrak, our Complete VNG Testing System measures ocular abilities as well as a patient’s ability to maintain balance while standing. Balance testing equipment offers static and dynamic results through unique tests, differentiated test patterns and multiple levels of difficulty. Additionally, our systems feature a faster, user-friendly testing software which makes evaluation easier and more efficient to complete.
